WHY I’M RUNNING

A Fair Shot At Success For All Virginians

We need a get-things-done type of Lt. Governor who will tackle Virginia’s problems with a sense of urgency. I'm going to dig right in, roll up my sleeves, and build a thriving Virginia where everyone has a fair shot at success no matter the color of your skin or your zip code.

Meet Levar Stoney

Levar was raised in Virginia by his father, Marvin, and his grandmother, Mary; neither graduated high school, but both worked day and night to put a roof over their heads and food on the table. And thanks to a strong family, a strong education - and a Virginia that believed in his potential - Levar was able to become the first in his family to graduate high school, then the first to graduate college. Levar was the first African American to serve as the Secretary of the Commonwealth, and a two-term mayor of our capital city, Richmond.
